Our History
Frosty Boy's success story began in 1976 when the company was born out of a
need for better quality soft serve and a larger, unique range of soft serve
blends at affordable prices.
At that time, Frosty Boy started out as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taylor
Freezer of Australia (agent for US based Taylor Soft Serve Machines). Over the
years, Frosty Boy was owned by multinationals like Australian Dairies, NZMP
(New Zealand Milk Powder) and BONLAC - now BONLAND. In 1999, Frosty Boy again
became a privately owned company specializing in dairy-based powder blends
focussing on soft serve bases.
Our brand is well recognized throughout the soft serve industry where the
quality of our blends speaks for itself. Our geographical location gives us
easy access to fresh, top-quality ingredients, using only credible suppliers
with strict food safety accreditations in place - offering our customers the
best!
Frosty Boy is a highly experienced, highly motivated and successful
Australia-wide organization with global resources and connections. We are known
for our superior quality and extensive range of products that have been
developed over many years. Our combined knowledge, expertise and commitment to
meet changing customers' needs sets our company apart. |

Our Factory
In July 2004 we moved to a new factory and invested in brand new, state-of-the-art equipment. The world's most gentle but thorough blender equipment and most accurate filling equipment were installed giving customers more peace of mind than ever before. During the whole manufacturing process everything has been done to protect the integrity and unique qualities of the ingredients because when you abuse instantized milk powder by using 'harsh' blending equipment and powder transfer techniques during manufacturing, it loses its instantizing capabilities.
We use a 'dense phase vacuum transfer system' to gently move ingredients from tipping stations to the blender. The blender we use (a LINDOR) is also very unique in design which gently 'folds' the powder into itself during the blending process instead of shearing it with harsh augers.
The batching, blending and filling processes are controlled by computers which almost completely eliminate human error resulting in unparalleled precision and accuracy.
We also installed an in-line X-ray machine which scans each bag coming off the production line for foreign objects or matter and even some lumps are detected. The X-ray process is so accurate it will pick up unwanted material like metal shavings as small as 0.5mm. The system also has an auto-reject feature, rejecting any product not within parameters.
Our own laboratory with full-time Health & Safety Officer ensures that every pallet leaving the factory has been tested for quality and integrity and we keep a library sample of all our powder mixes for 2 years in the event of possible queries with regards to a specific batch.
We then go one step further and have each batch bacteriologically tested by an independent laboratory before the product is released into the market, ready for distribution and sale. We have an impeccable food safety record that we are proud of!
We manufacture under a strict HACCP Food Safety code of practice with regular audits done by QAS (Quality Assurance Systems) as well as by external customers like YUM Restaurants.
From this factory location in Loganholme (just south of Brisbane), we provide services to our own distributor network, national clients and international customers.
