Lubrication
 |
Proper lubrication of machine parts must be done to manufacturers’ instructions
to ensure proper operation of soft serve machines and prevent damage.
| > |
Only approved food-grade lube must be used on all machine parts. |
| > |
Ensure that you replace the cap after lubrication because dirt and dust will
stick to it if left open. This may pose a potential risk for contamination. |
| > |
Ensure that you also sanitize outside of tube before handling machine parts for
lubrication and re-assembly. |
| > |
The seals on the freezer doors and Carpigiani/Coldelite pumps are NOT
lubricated. |
|
|
|
|
|
 |
Ensure that the following seals are properly lubricated:
1. The inside of the boot-rubber on the drive-shaft.
2. The O-rings on the air orifice and on mix-feed tube.
3. The O-rings on the draw valves on the freezer door.
4. The O-rings on the prime plug on the freezer door.
5. The pump O-rings only on pump machines.
Note that in some makes like TAYLOR, there is a difference between lube for
heat treat machines and lube for all other machines. Use the red tube for heat
treat machines. Blue for the non heat treat machines. |

|
|
Warning: Do not use excessive amounts of lube,
especially on pumps. Check which O-rings and seals on a TAYLOR pump need to be
lubricated and which do not.
Warning: Ensure that the air-orifice on the mix-feed
tube or pump is not blocked by lube or solid mix.
